How do I access the playtest materials?

All of our playtest materials are on our Discord server! To gain access to them, just follow the below steps!

  1. Join our Discord server: https://discordapp.com/invite/VSkucPb
  2. Click the green checkmark to agree to the server rules
  3. On the left-hand side, look for a channel called #role-management. In that channel, you can click the crossed swords reaction underneath the playtest message to gain access to the Playtesting channels.
  4. On the left-hand side, look for the #murka-rr-links channel, where you can find all the links to our playtest materials hosted on Google Drive!

How will shipping work?

Shipping will be charged after the campaign ends, through our pledge manager, BackerKit. This way, shipping can be calculated all at once, and you can easily upgrade your pledge, or even get yourself some add-ons from the campaign!

Will I get PDFs/my name in the book for the "Both Softcovers" tier?

YES. I clarified this in this update: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/actionfiction/monsters-of-murka-restaurants-and-retail/posts/2948434

Alas, in my foolish rush to get that reward tier up after the launch, I forgot to fill in those salient details, and by the time I realized this, someone had already backed at that tier, meaning Kickstarter would not let me edit it.

BUT YES, you still get all the wondrous digital goodies, and your name in the book.

If we unlock the hardbacks, will I be able to upgrade from softcover to harcover?

Yes, absolutely. This will be as easy as changing your pledge on Kickstarter (as I’ll be adding a new reward for hardback books), or adding the Hardback Book Add-on amount to your pledge.

Alternatively, you can do this with our pledge manager, Backerkit, once the campaign is over!

This also applies to the limited edition faux-leather books as well.

How will shipping work?

This is our current fulfillment plan for all of our KS materials:

  1. We ship all of our current stock of our Monsters of Murka Campaign Setting books (the first book) and all campaign extras (like pins) to our fulfillment partners
  2. Once the Restaurants & Retail books are completed, they will also be shipped to our fulfillment partners
  3. When all of the R&R books and other materials have arrived at our fulfillment partner’s warehouse, they will begin packaging all of the material together and shipping it to backers. We’ll keep you updated throughout this entire process as well.

How do I get Add-ons for my pledge?

To get any add-ons, you can simply add the amount of the add-on to your pledge. You can also wait until the survey goes out after the Kickstarter campaign ends before purchasing add-ons. Shipping costs will be calculated after the campaign ends.

BackerKit FAQ

What is BackerKit?

BackerKit is a service that crowdfunded project creators use to keep track of hundreds to tens of thousands of backers—from shipping details, pledge levels, preferences and quantities, whether they have paid or had their card declined, special notes, and everything in between!

The BackerKit software and support team is independent from the campaign’s project team—BackerKit does not handle the actual reward shipping. For more information about the preparation or delivery status of your rewards, please check the project's updates page.

How does BackerKit work?

After the campaign ends, the project creator will send you an email with a unique link to your survey. You can check out a walkthrough of the process here.

I never received my invitation. How do I complete the survey?

The most common reasons for not receiving a survey email is that you may be checking an email inbox different from the email address you used to sign up with Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account, or it may be caught in your spam filter.

Confirm that the email address you are searching matches the email address tied to your Kickstarter, Indiegogo, or Tilt Pro account. If that doesn’t work, then try checking your spam, junk or promotions folders. You can also search for "backerkit” in your inbox.

To resend the survey to yourself, visit the project page and input the email address associated with your Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account.

How do I update my shipping address?

BackerKit allows you to update your shipping address until the shipping addresses are locked by the project creator. To update your address, go back to your BackerKit survey by inputting your email here.

When will my order be shipped, charged or locked?

That is handled directly by the project creator. BackerKit functions independently of the project itself, so we do not have control of their physical shipping timeline. If you want to check on the project’s status, we recommend reading over the project's updates page.

I completed the survey, but haven't received my rewards yet. When will they arrive?

As BackerKit does not actually handle any rewards or shipping, the best way to stay updated on the shipping timeline would be to check out the project's updates page.
